This year, One O One Convenience was proud to be the headline sponsor of the Cash for Kids School Uniform Appeal, helping children across Glasgow and the West of Scotland start school with confidence—and without added financial stress for their families.
For many parents, the rising cost of living means school uniforms can be a real burden. That’s why the appeal matters so much:
· £10 buys a basic school bag.
· £20 covers a bag, lunchbox and stationery.
· £50 provides shirts, trousers or skirts and jumpers.
· £100 kits out a child completely, including shoes and a jacket.
We kicked things off with a £1,500 donation and, with Clyde 1 matching every single gift up to £25,000, every pound our customers contributed went twice as far.
Together, an amazing £50,000 has now been raised – enough to help 816 local children get the uniforms and essentials they need to start the school year with pride.
Grants from this appeal have already reached a wide range of local groups, including:
· Made with Love – Clydebank
· Clyde Valley High School Parent Council – Wishaw
· West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare – Dumbarton
· The Indigo Childcare Group – Castlemilk
· East Dunbartonshire Women’s Aid – Kirkintilloch
· The Jeely Piece Club – Cambuslang
· Achieve More Scotland – East Kilbride
· G15 Youth Project – Drumchapel
· Govan Youth Information Project – Govan
These organisations – and many more – are ensuring that support reaches the children who need it most.
Thanks to your incredible generosity, hundreds of local children will walk into school feeling included, equipped and ready to learn.
From all of us at One O One: thank you for making a real difference to families in our community and proving that, together, we can stop uniform costs from becoming a barrier to learning.
