On behalf of Radio Clyde Cash For Kids and One O One we would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to every one of you who participated in 5k a Day this May.
In total you all raised an astonishing £43,878.39!
The amazing fundraising efforts will allow Cash For Kids to support 1,254 children who are living in poverty this summer. Cash For Kids will be providing CFK Basic Essential Family Grants to trusted grassroot projects and community groups who work with many vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people in our local communities across Glasgow & the West of Scotland. The CFK Grants make life a bit more bearable for families during the long summer, when kids are away from the security they get from school and the hot & nutritional meals and snacks.
We also want to say a huge congratulations Joyce Grant, the winner of the £1,000 cash prize courtesy of One O One Convenience Stores. Joyce signed up for 5k a Day to get her fitness back while recovering from breast cancer, saying the fresh air and exercise helped and made her feel better. Her 2 year-old grandson Kayden joined her on her walks in his pushchair – he really kept her going and she’s going to use her prize money to spoil him!
